I’ve had the theme “connected” running around in my head for while and decided to use it to experiment with free motion stitch. Each of these shapes has been made using FM on water soluble fabric. The shapes were then connected to a painted vilene background, suspended using FM.

What paints have you used for the vilene – which would bleed through the vilene please?
Your work is fab!

Thanks Penny. Regarding the paint, I often use acrylics or Inktense to paint Vilene but in this instance it was some left over procian dye I’d come across while having a tidy up…..it had been sitting in jars for at least two years! I used lots of water to get the blended effect I wanted so the dye did bleed through but I don’t consider that a problem as long as the work surface is covered to protect it.
