This Rock Pool with Seaweed is approximately 33cm x 38cm. It has been made using Bergschaf fibres for the background and rocks, Merino for the seaweed and Angelina for the water. The barnacles are hand embroidered Colonial Knots.
As always, fantastic colours and the scattering of barnacles makes it seem all the more real. The bladder wrack is my favourite though – I just itch to touch it!
It’s my third felted rock pool Antje. Each one is very different from the last and I can see myself making even more of them. They are such a great source of inspiration!

Thanks Alex. Just as well you can’t touch the bladderwrack as you would be disappointed when you squeezed and it didn’t go “pop”!

Absolutely love the rock pool – the colours are fab and the seaweed really ‘pops’ against the rocks.

Thanks Lyn. I tried several ways of making the seaweed but in the end went for the simplest using the green plastic coated wire.

Wooza, just beautiful Karen. And having been photographing rock pools just recently I see your piece and can imagine I’m right there.

Fabulous! And I love a Colonial Knot! Much prefer them than the usual French.

We think alike Amanda! I’ve not done a solitary French knot since discovering the Colonial….so much neater.
