Nuno silk wrap…..

This is the finished Nuno silk wrap I made with Vivienne Morpeth earlier this week.  Now it’s dry the texture and lustre of the silk really sing and I absolutely love it!

Mixed media abstract landscape in shades of red, pink and grey. Created with various wool fibres and a variety of fabrics which have been attached to the painted background using free motion embroidery.
Promised Land
A 3D angler fish constructed using a wire armature to which sinamay and Tyvek fabric have been hand stitched. The fish is painted in shades of turquoise and bronze and the Tyvek fabric has been distressed using a heat tool to create holes.

A butterfly fascinator attached to a gold coloured head band. The butterfly is made from hand painted and stitched cotton fabric and lace. It has a gold coloured body and it’s wings are a delicate mix of dusky pink and lilac

A 3D fabric butterfly constructed from cotton fabric covered with hand painted in shades of gold and dark green and stitched lace. It has long thin legs made from wire, its body is a deep russet colour

A 3D free standing fabric dragonfly made from cotton fabric, hand painted in shades of pink and turquoise. It’s wire legs have been wrapped with thread and painted to match its body.
