All the Louth Panorama quilts, being made by textile group Meridian, have now been handed over ready to be sewn onto a black background.

Sheila had photographs of the two original canvases, painted by William Brown in the 1840’s, reduced in size and printed onto cotton fabric which she then quilted using free machine stitching. These two panels will form the centre of our collaborative quilt with the rest of them being grouped as shown above.

Glad you like it. We were invited to show the finished quilt at a meeting of Louth Council earlier this evening. I couldn’t make it but I’ve just read an email from one of the ladies who did attend saying they were absolutely delighted with it and send their congratulations. There was talk of having it framed and possibly hung alongside the original paintings in the Council Chambers. I think we will also look at displaying it in a few other venues before handing it over.
